Dr. Umesh Menon is a former Sr. Faculty Member of Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, an International Expert for United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), UNDP, World Bank, USAID and European Union. He is on the Board of Companies in Uganda, UK and Mozambique.
After completing his education with Masters in Commerce, Masters in Business Administration and qualifying as Certified Management Accountant, Umesh worked with Government Organizations and Corporates in India before getting into academics, training, consulting and research. Umesh has an overall work experience of 22 years.
Umesh has done his PhD in Management from Calorx Teachers' University. His thesis is on International Investments by Indian SMEs with reference to investment in East Africa.
Umesh has been instrumental in setting up many Entrepreneurship Institutions in Asia and Africa to offer Business Development Services to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in those countries — specifically in Mozambique, Laos, Vietnam, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Uganda, set up in collaboration with UNIDO and/or Government of India.
Umesh is also associated with many innovative start-ups in India, Mozambique and Uganda, and sits on the Board of 7 SME companies altogether in these countries. He lives in India with his wife and two children.
